Important information about Online History Bee and Bowl Regionals
Each Online History Bee and Bowl Regional event will offer a different combination of question set and schedule of events. For the October Online History Bee and Bowl, the C set of questions will be used, the Bowl will take place Saturday, and the Bee will happen on Sunday. This event is open to all students, regardless of what state they are from, as long as they have not yet played this set of questions in the 2025-2026 academic year. To register, please fill out the form below. If you don’t receive a confirmation email within an hour, your registration may not have been processed and you should email hs-info@iacompetitions.com as soon as possible.
- Preregistration closes on October 17th at 11:59 pm EST.
- Teams and individuals can still register with a late fee until October 20th, after which Bee and Bowl registrations are no longer guaranteed.
- After that, contact hs-info@iacompetitions.com to see if registration is still possible.
- No refunds will be given after October 20th; a more complete list of our late registration fees and policies for our online events can be found here.
History Bee & Bowl
- Bowl teams and Bee players start with several preliminary rounds (see schedule below, as some preliminary rounds take place after lunch).
- After prelims, the top Bowl teams will play in a single elimination playoff, while the top Bee players will play a 4th and final round.
- The number of teams/individuals playing in playoffs will vary depending on the field size; your Tournament Director will announce this on the day of the tournament.
- There will be plaques for the top Bowl teams and medals for the top 3 Bee players in each division. Additionally, the top Bowl teams and Bee players can also qualify for our Varsity/JV National Championships in April!
Varsity & JV National Qualifying Exams
We also offer the Varsity/JV National Qualifying Exams at our online tournaments as well as in-person. These exams qualify students for events at the Varsity & Junior Varsity National Championships. Note: Competitors registered for exams will receive a separate email with the instructions for taking their exams online. The exams will not take place during the online competition time.
- National Biology Bee Qualifying Exam
- Geography Qualifying Exam (qualifies for the National Geography Bee, US Geography Championships & the US Geography Bee)
- National Humanities Bee Qualifying Exam
- National Political Science Bee Qualifying Exam
- National Science Bee Qualifying Exam
- US History Bee Qualifying Exam
- Students can also qualify for the 2026 International Geography Championships (Khao Lak, Thailand, July 5-12, 2026) through the Varsity / JV Geography National Qualifying Exam.
Middle and Elementary School Participation
Middle and elementary school students are welcome to participate in the National History Bowl and National History Bee at this event, following these guidelines. We also offer our National Science/History/Geography Bee events for all ages and our Academic Bowl events for elementary and middle school students.
