Who are we?
International Academic Competitions is an organization dedicated to giving students around the world the chance to compete in engaging, challenging, and exciting tournaments that are focused on history, geography, science, and other academic disciplines. IAC was founded by 19-day Jeopardy champion David Madden in 2010. Madden’s vision was to ultimately give students an opportunity to compete on a global level, and since 2010, our programs have expanded from being a single tournament for students in the New York metro area to reaching students in over 50 countries in a typical school year.

What do we do?

International Academic Competitions offer regional, national, and international competitions for students in grades K-12 through competitions including the National History Bee, National History Bowl, National Geography Bee, National Science Bee, and many others.

What is our mission?

IAC believes that academic competitions can enrich the lives of children by giving them the incentive to study hard and foster a lifelong long of learning, while at the same time introducing them to like-minded peers across America and around the world. IAC sees its mission as introducing as many students as possible to the joy and fulfillment of academic competition, and encouraging students to develop their intellectual, social, and moral capacities through participation in our programs.
