IAC is delighted to announce that the Northern Alabama Fall tournament will be held on December 13th at Albertville Middle School! This tournament, like all IAC Regional Tournaments in the US, is open to all students regardless of what state they are located in, as long as they have not yet played this set of questions in the 2025-2026 academic year.

- Question Set: TBD
- Location: Albertville Middle School, 600 East Alabama Avenue, Albertville, AL 35950
- Registration Deadline: Monday, December 1st at 11:59 pm Eastern time.
- Late Registration: There will be a waitlist available after registration closes. Registrations will be added on a first come, first served basis depending on space availability with a $10 late fee.
- Costs: $50 per Bee, $20 per Exam
- Refund Policy: No refunds will be given after the registration deadline; a more complete list of our late registration fees and policies can be found here.
Buzzer Based Competition Information for all grade levels
- Subjects: There will be three Buzzer-based bees at this tournament (National Science Bee, National History Bee, National Geography Bee).
- Format: All students will play 3 preliminary rounds of 30 questions each. The top students in each division will then play in a final round to determine awards.
- Qualifications: The top 50% of students in each division will qualify for the National Championships for their division. The top ⅓ of students in each division will qualify for the International Championships for that subject.
Middle & Elementary School Student Information

- Students in K-8th Grade must take the Online Regional Qualifying Exam before registering for a Regional Tournament. Please note your child’s or student’s Player Number to include it in your registration.
- Middle & Elem. School National Qualifying Exams: We are now offering the National Qualifying Exams at our in-person tournaments as well as online. These exams qualify students for additional competitions at the Middle & Elementary School National Championships. Exams can be taken throughout the day, see the tournament schedule for times.
- Middle & Elementary School students can also choose to take the Varsity & Junior Varsity exams to qualify for the Varsity & Junior Varsity National Championships (see below).
High School Student Information
- Students in 9th-12th grade do NOT have any prerequisites to register for this tournament.
- Varsity & JV National Qualifying Exams: We are now offering the following National Qualifying Exams at our in-person tournaments and online. These exams qualify students for events at the Varsity & Junior Varsity National Championships. Exams can be taken throughout the day, see the tournament schedule for times.
- National Biology Bee Qualifying Exam
- Geography Qualifying Exam (qualifies for the National Geography Bee, US Geography Championships & the US Geography Bee)
- National Humanities Bee Qualifying Exam
- National Political Science Bee Qualifying Exam
- National Science Bee Qualifying Exam
- US History Bee Qualifying Exam
- Students can also qualify for the 2026 International Geography Championships (Khao Lak, Thailand, July 5-12, 2026) through the Varsity / JV Geography National Qualifying Exam.
