Greetings Friends of International Academic Competitions!
Happy new year, and welcome to the busiest time in the calendar for our Geography, History, and Science-themed quiz tournaments! From January through April, IAC is organizing over 100 separate competitions throughout the USA, and we hope that you and your students and children will have a great time competing and learning whether in-person or online.
Throughout 2023, we’re going to be putting a special emphasis on making sure that students, schools, and teams who are new to our events feel especially welcome. Our newly updated Resources Page, with tournament-specific and subject-specific study guides is a key part of this. These will help guide students’ preparation and help introduce them to the material that forms the backbone of our quiz questions. We’re also planning on offering new tutorials, chances to interact with and get guidance from our staff, and several competitions that are meant just for schools and students who are new to our tournaments. We’ll be in touch with all the news as these and other IAC initiatives debut.
The new year also brings the chance to qualify for our 2023 Varsity and Junior Varsity National Championships from April 27-30 and our 2023 Middle and Elementary School National Championships from June 1-4. Both will be held in Arlington, Virginia just a few metro stops away from all the great sites of our nation’s capital. And for those who have qualified, the 2023 International History Olympiad in Rome and the 2023 International Environmental Science Olympiad in Ecuador await you and your families this coming summer!
See you at a tournament soon, and good luck and best wishes for 2023 from the whole IAC family!
