International Academic Competitions is pleased to announce that its 2020 Middle School and Elementary School National Championships will be held between November 13 and December 20, 2020 entirely online. All information about the National Championships can be found at ems.iacnationals.com.

Qualification and Eligibility

  • Prior qualification is required for participation in the National History Bee and Bowl, National Science Bee, US Academic Bee and Bowl, International Geography Bee, and US Geography Championships.
  • Teams may also qualify for the National History Bowl and/or US Academic Bowl if one or more student on the team is qualified for and competing in the National History Bee and/or US Academic Bee, respectively.
  • Any student wishing to participate in the US History Bee must also be participating in the National History Bee and/or National History Bowl.
  • The National Championship Exams (in Science and History fields, including Historical Geography), the National Humanities Bee, and the National Sports and Entertainment History Bee are open to all students.

Bowl Registration and Bulk School Registrations

  • Bowl Registrations: All registrations for the National History Bowl and US Academic Bowl should be completed here.
  • Bulk Registrations: Schools wishing to register four or more students for individual events (Bees and exams) should not fill out the form below. The form and instructions for this registration method can be found here.

Refund Policy

Refund requests should be sent via email to Arthur Ramsay (arthur@iacompetitions.com). Refunds requested before the corresponding registration deadline(s) will be issued minus a 5% processing fee per transaction. After the registration deadline has passed, we are not able to offer refunds.

  • If you are a teacher filling out this form, we still need the email address of the student's parent.
  • This should be the student's school in the 2019-20 academic year. If the student is homeschooled in an association, list the name of the association. If the student is homeschooled with no affiliation in an association, just write “Homeschool”.
  • If a student is homeschooled, put the name of the city the student lives in regardless of whether the homeschool association is based in another city.
  • Note that there is no prior qualification for the National Humanities Bee or the National Sports & Entertainment History Bee.
  • Note that the US Geography Championships requires prior qualification. There is no qualification requirement for any other exam listed.
