- International Geography Championships – July 3 – 10, 2022 | Burlington, VT & Montreal, QC
3. Varsity & Junior Varsity Division Updates
In addition to our regularly scheduled Varsity/JV regional tournaments, we will also be offering an online option for both the B and A Sets of the National History Bee and Bowl. Information about both of these tournaments is available at historybowl.com.
We are also looking for high schools that are interested in hosting Elementary & Middle School Regional Finals tournaments. This can be done as a fundraiser for your History Bowl team or service credit for your National Honor Society. At a well-attended Regional Finals, high school groups can earn $5,000 or more for hosting and providing staff (including juniors and seniors) that could cover all the costs of a trip to Varsity / JV History Bowl Nationals! Please email Kiersten Brown (kiersten@iacompetitions.com) for more information.
4. Elementary & Middle School Division Updates
Effective today, IAC will be extending the deadline for students to submit their qualifying exams for both the National History Bee and National Science Bee until January 31, 2022, and the deadline for qualifying exams for the International Geography Bee until February 28, 2022. If you have not yet signed up for a sponsor account, you may still do so at orqe.iac-exams.com.
Qualifications for all exams submitted before January 31 will be available on February 1, and any Geography qualifying exams submitted after January 31 will be marked for qualification on a weekly basis (on February 8, 15, 22, and March 1).
We are still looking for additional middle schools as host sites for in-person Regional Finals as well (you can find a current list of host locations at iacompetitions.com/registration). If you are interested in hosting such a tournament at your school, we can provide the staff corps, and you can still earn $2000+ for hosting – all you need to do is provide the rooms! If you are interested in hosting a Regional Finals tournament at your school, please email Kiersten Brown (kiersten@iacompetitions.com). We will also be announcing dates for online Regional Final options in early February.
5. 2022 National Championship Tournaments
The dates and locations for both US National Championships are listed here for planning purposes. Please note that the event schedules for both National Championships have not yet been published, and IAC advises against making any travel arrangements for those events at this time.
